Global Talent digital technology evidence: building the 10-document case

Ten documents are a limit, not a target for volume. Each item needs a defined evidential job and must prove the applicant's own recognition or contribution without being reused across criteria.

Reading tools

A criteria-led guide to UK Global Talent digital technology evidence, mandatory recognition, additional criteria, attribution and document limits.

01

Prove that the work belongs within digital technology.

Technical and business applicants can qualify, but the work should be rooted in a product-led technology company or eligible digital field. Ordinary corporate, outsourcing or consultancy activity may require closer field-fit analysis.

The application should define the product, market and applicant's role before presenting achievements.

02

Reserve evidence for mandatory recognition.

The current public framework requires evidence of recognition as a leader or potential leader and separate evidence across at least two additional criterion areas. The same document cannot simply perform several criterion functions.

Independent recognition, attributable impact and the standing of the source should be visible without relying on inference.

03

Use the 10-document limit to construct a coherent argument.

The public guidance permits a maximum of 10 evidence documents, separate from the CV and recommendation letters. Each should have one proposition, credible source, clear attribution and measurable consequence.

Screenshots and internally produced metrics should be explained and supported. Repetition can displace stronger evidence without adding weight.

Questions

Points that commonly alter the answer.

How many technology evidence documents are permitted?+

The current public guidance permits a maximum of 10 documents proving the criteria. The CV and recommendation letters do not count toward that 10-document limit.

Can 1 document prove 2 criteria?+

The current public guidance states that the same piece of evidence cannot be used for more than 1 criterion.

Does working for a famous company prove recognition?+

No. The evidence should identify the applicant's own role, recognition and impact rather than relying on the employer's reputation.

Move from achievement to the proposition the evidence must prove.

Field, standard, attribution, independent recognition and impact must align. The route should be tested against the applicant's actual work before the evidence pack is fixed.

Test the proposition each document must prove.

Quastels can review the field, standard, attribution, independent recognition and evidence architecture before the final application is fixed.
