Global Talent endorsement refusal and review

The first question after refusal is not how to argue harder. It is whether the decision contains a reviewable error, the application contains an evidential gap, or the applicant should change route or rebuild the case.

01 / The approach

Separate decision error from evidential weakness.

An endorsement review tests whether the decision was wrong on the application made. It should identify the criterion, evidence and alleged error precisely. A missing proposition or materially new evidence may point toward a fresh application instead.

02 / The approach

Protect immigration status independently.

Endorsement and endorsement review are not themselves immigration permission. Any current visa expiry, pending application or travel constraint requires separate analysis while the endorsement response is considered.

03 / The approach

Choose the route that protects the real objective.

Review, a rebuilt endorsement application, Skilled Worker sponsorship or another route can produce different timing, cost and flexibility. The procedural response should serve the applicant’s UK plan rather than merely contest the refusal.

Questions before proceeding.

How long do I have to request a Global Talent endorsement review?

Current published guidance states that the request must be made within 28 calendar days of the Home Office refusal email. The date and current guidance should be checked immediately.

Can new evidence be added during endorsement review?

The review process is directed to error in the decision on the application made. Where materially new evidence is required, a fresh application may be the more appropriate process.

Should I apply again as Exceptional Promise instead?

Only if the published standard and the applicant’s actual career position support it. Promise is not an automatic fallback from a refused Talent application.

Does endorsement review extend my current visa?

No. An endorsement application or review does not itself extend immigration permission. Current status and any application deadline require separate protection.
